If you were wondering how was our sport wheelchair is made, we decided to tell you all about it in detail today. You will see that the Made in France is really put into the spotlight. Find out here about every step of the FreeMoovin’s manufacture process.
Everything to know about the manufacture of the PlayMoovin’ sport wheelchair
Making the case
The FreeMoovin’ has its own particularity. It is made of a light material which allows all sportspeople, whether young or old, to easily move on a playing field.
A PEHD case
The polyethylene which is used in the manufacture of the cases of our sport wheelchairs has two important characteristics:
- It is super resistant; it can withstand many collisions without being damaged.
- It is light.
By choosing this material, PlayMoovin’ guarantees the extreme solidity of every sport wheelchair. It allows for wild wheelchair rugby games during an awareness activity within a company or a school.
The PEHD used is naturally made to resist UV rays so that it can be used outside without problems.
It also underwent toxicology tests by the NAMSA which we can send you via email if you so wish.
Rotational moulding of a multisport wheelchair
Our cases are made by AVNI Plasturgie, a company located in Aigueperse in Auvergne. This company includes more and more recycled plastic in the design of these products.
It also designs plastic products which are certified by the ISO9001:2015 norm. The technique used to manufacture it is rotational moulding. It allows to create plastic hollow parts using all the colours. On that note, it is thanks to that process that our wheelchairs are stackable. It eases the transport.
Here a video showing you how a FreeMoovin’ is made:
Sport wheelchair: 24” and 22” propelling wheels
The wheels of our sport wheelchairs must naturally be rock-solid to guarantee the players’ safety. They are made in the only existing European wheel factory: MBL Factory. It is a polish company.
These are also in compliance with all the current directives, which are the following:
- 2002/95/EC;
- And 2011/65/EU.

The assembly of the wheelchair
In order to withstand wheelchair collisions specific to contact sports, we have designed a specific fork made of tempered aluminium. It is made by the company Roanne Fonderie located in Roanne. This company has been specialising in aluminium foundry and sand casting for over 20 years.
Thanks to them, the wheelchair can be assembled with a simple clip.
The final assembly is made-in-house in our workshop in Cébazat (63118). After that we carry out a test in real usage conditions and we affix our certification plate on the wheelchair with a serial number. It allows us to ensure the correct traceability of all the FreeMoovin’ parts.
How do we put our sport wheelchairs to the test?
At PlayMoovin’, we are striving for quality on top of everything else. Tests are carried out in that regard by the CERAH, the study and research centre for the equipment of disabled people. This organisation carries out tests for all the types of vehicles made for disabled people which are covered by the health insurance organisations.
Our racing sport wheelchair meets the demands of the NF EN 12183 Avril 20914 norm.
On that note, all the companies which contribute to the FreeMoovin’s manufacture also have the required certifications.
We also carry out tests on every part lot in order to ensure their quality.
It allowed us to win several trophies, as you will see below.

Sport wheelchair : what for ?
Are you part of an association, a school, a company or a sport club? Get in contact with us!
If we have created this wheelchair, it is for two reasons:
First, we think it is high time to view disabilities in a different way. Using the FreeMoovin’ is a great way to carry out an awareness action in:
- A company;
- Schools;
- Associations;
- Sport clubs.
The second reason is that this light sport wheelchair is way less expensive than the classical version. This sport wheelchair has a price that cannot be beaten. It is adapted to all the sports: wheelchair tennis, wheelchair rugby, etc.
We are also renting our wheelchair for children as well as for adults.
As you can see, we use the utmost precision in the making of each of our sport wheelchairs. So you can contact us if you want to help us with making our activity known and if you want to fight against discriminations towards disabled people!
