PlayMoovin’ has been expanding his influence abroad for some time. We want to affirm our drive to promote values of inclusion and accessibility on the international scene. Thanks to our sport wheelchairs, we give disabled people the possibility to practice the sport they want to enjoy. Here is an overview of our expansion.
PlayMoovin’ s commitment abroad
Our objective is to become a major player for inclusion by developing our international presence and to respond to a global need for accessibility. A lot of people on the market have already collaborated with us.
In Italy, the sport for disabled people federation (FIPES) which is based in Rome has opened the doors of the Italian market to us.
In the Netherlands, the GEHANDICAPTENSPORT association allows us to pursue our commitment towards inclusion by offering adapted solutions to disabled people.
In Belgium, the La Hulpe Rugby Club and reseller Nicolas Permiganau also joined us on our adventure. In Luxemburg, our partnership with Tennis Spora aims to offer tailor-made solutions to all disabled players.
In la Réunion, the reseller Yoann Faure and the association RTS 974 proudly fly the brand’s flag, showing that it is possible to develop awareness actions and find alternatives for all disabled sportspeople even in far away territories.
We are also collaborating with AlterGo, a Canadian awareness association.
Moreover, we are also exploring development leads in England, Australia, Japan and in New-Zealand.
Overcome the challenges of internationalisation
PlayMoovin’s ambition to expand abroad comes with challenges and specifically logistical and legislative challenges. It is the reason why we have started with the European market by relying on the regulations with the support of BPI France.
The real challenge lies in the creation of partnerships with foreign players all while facing prohibitively high costs related to the transport of sizeable products.
We have optimised the size of our products in collaboration with the Saint-Étienne eco-design pole, so that they correspond to the dimensions of European pallets.
This approach was successful because we can now place between 2 and 6 wheelchairs per pallet. Even though this strategy allows us to optimise our sport wheelchair transport, we are aware that shipping costs remain high. Thus, we chose to focus on the sale of our sport wheelchairs rather than on the rent.
Prioritise development in Europe
We continue to broaden our connexions in Europe. We prefer meeting our clients in person, because the human connexion is essential for us. It contributes to the conveyance of the values of inclusion and of accessibility which are at the heart of our company. Thus, we started to meet people in Italy and in Spain.
PlayMoovin’ does not just sell products. We offer a vision of an inclusive society where each obstacle has a solution to make sport more accessible.
